Oxford City Council is the democratically elected body for Oxford.
In partnership with others, the Council provides a wide range of services for approximately 150,000 residents (including 30,000 full-time students), 83,000 people who work in Oxford, and around nine million people who visit the city every year.
You can find your local Councillors here, by typing in your postcode or looking them up by name, ward or political party.
The Council has five priority areas to build a world-class city:
- Vibrant, sustainable economy
- Meeting housing needs
- Strong, active communities
- Cleaner, greener Oxford
- Efficient, effective Council
Have an opinion?
Come to an Area Forum, made up of the local Councillors and residents for the area in question. These local forums seek to provide a space in which residents and community groups can ensure that local services are responsive to the needs of the community.
Most students reside in the City Centre or East Oxford, which are covered by the Central, South & West and East Area Forums respectively. Details of Area Forum meetings can be found here.
