SU ELECTIONS 7th -10th FEB 

Hi! I’m Anna-Tina (she/her), a climate justice campaigner and third year Mansfield Geographer. As your VP, I would create meaningful social change: see the surrounding commitments! 

SOME OF MY EXPERIENCE: 

Oxford Climate Justice Campaign (2019-present)  

  • Successfully campaigned for university-level divestment. 

  • Helped write OCJC's report on Oxford's fossil fuel ties. 

  • Campaigned for college level divestment and decarbonisation. 

Environment and Ethics Officer Mansfield JCR (2021)  

  • Successfully campaigned for Mansfield to commit to carbon net zero and biodiversity net gain by 2030 and set up a working group to achieve these goals. 

DIVESTMENT 

  • Support existing campaigns to ensure all colleges divest from fossil fuels. 

  • Strengthen the transparency of the University's ethical investment subcommittee. 

  • Campaign for the University to address its extensive ties to the fossil fuel industry.  

DECARBONISATION 

  • Campaign for all colleges to reach carbon net-zero and biodiversity net gain by 2030. 

  • Get the central university to properly support colleges to decarbonise including creating a platform for inter-college knowledge sharing. 

EMPOWER STUDENTS 

  • Create a network linking campaigns and charities across the university so they can support each other, learn from one another and socialise.  

  • Support campaigns in hosting workshops in partnership with the SU to reach wider student audiences. 

DECOLONISATION 

  • Campaign for the University to create a funded programme of decolonising activities. 

  • My own extensive research on decolonising curricula equips me with the skills to campaign for this. 

BRIDGING TOWN AND GOWN 

  • Get the University to tackle homelessness and the wider housing crisis. 

  • Campaign for University spaces to be more accessible to non-University residents.  

  • Implement an action plan to increase student involvement in the local community. 

SUSTAINABLE CAREERS 

  • Speed up the careers service’s sustainability projects, and make sure the Net-Zero campaign is doing what it should: decarbonising not greenwashing. 

  • Support OCJC's Fossil Free Careers campaign.
