1st year, PPE, St John's

Anas (he/him), I’m a first year PPEist at St John’s College and an events officer at the Oxford PPE Society. In my spare time, you’ll find me at OULC bickering without the beer, and trying out new societies and new experiences.

My aims for NUS Conference:

Supporting NUS campaigns: A new vision for education: one that is fairer, accessible, modern, and democratised Don't change our student loan repayments! Reforming the Gender Recognition Act for the basic right to be recognised for who you are, and ending Institutionalised transphobia

Bring forward a motion on the importance of technology and education: the pandemic showed how students from lower income background were hit hardest. This is simply not fair. I want to push for more modernisation of how the curriculum is taught, not only in higher education, but throughout the education system. My motion is ready to go (you can call it 'oven-ready') and can be found at linktr.ee/anasdayeh

Representing our university and Student Union: I’m running to represent you. NUS have successfully managed to create educational change over the years that is UK-wide, and I’m optimistic that we can achieve even more!
