Scottish Dance Society Taster

Tue 21 January 2020 19:30-21:45, Wesley Memorial Church

Oxford University Scottish Dance Society

During university term time the Oxford University Scottish Dance Society holds beginner classes at 7:30 - 9:45 pm on Tuesdays at Wesley Memorial Church. These are open to everyone and cost £3.50 (student) or £4.00 (non-student). Scottish dancing is a type of social dancing, where you dance with a partner, but also as part of a larger group. We swap partners between dances so you get to know lots of people quickly! In classes we learn and practice dances for the end of term dance in 8th week. These are a mixture of faster dances (reels and jigs) and slower dances (strathspeys) so there is something for everyone! There is no dress code, but we recommend something you can move quite freely in, and we can provide dancing shoes. Come along, meet new people and have fun doing it!
