Hoop is for those who want to try being completely off the ground! The metal hoop is suspended above a crash mat and you will be taught how to mount and dismount as well as a number of aerial acrobatic moves. You will want to wear leggings or other close-fitting trousers to make sure you're more comfortable. No previous experience needed — just come and try it! It is a great opportunity to try something completely different and magical, whether you are a fan of circus arts, a dancer, looking for a new ay to exercise or are just curious. If you can do some kind of (even low-impact) exercise, you are fit enough to try hoop — and our instructor Natalie will make sure it’s fun and safe.

Pole dance is exciting and versatile: it can be a sport, a means of self-expression, a type of aerial gymnastics or primarily a means of exercise. You can make it sexy if you want to (but you don’t have to!) or focus on your strength, flexibility, the dance flow, being in the air or anything else that appeals to you. Whatever your reason for trying pole, it is always fun. A taster session is a great way to try it out (and, as it happens often, get hooked). Please wear a t-shirt and shorts; socks are good and make spins easier but not obligatory. DO NOT moisturise before class: being slippery on the pole is dangerous!

The studio itself is accessible (small bump of the doorframe but other than that smooth ground floor entrance) but the toilets are up on the first floor and unfortunately there is no lift. The squash courts are accessible with a toilet and changing room on the ground floor. We ask everyone to talk to their GP and make sure they can exercise if they have any doubts (if you are allowed some exercise, even low-impact, you can try pole and hoop) and let the instructor know before the class if they have any injuries or limitations so that we can adjust the moves and make sure they are safe. We have students who are disabled and enjoy our classes at different levels, we just ask everyone to be mindful of their limitations and communicate with the instructors.
