A Mindful Return to Normal University Life

Does the thought of a return to big social events make you feel slightly uneasy? Or maybe the idea of a ‘new normal’ is causing you feelings of uncertainty and anxiety?

This workshop series has been designed in collaboration with the Counselling Service to help settle some of the anxieties and concerns many of us have regarding entering a post-covid world and university life. The series aims to ease some of your worries by using a mix of approaches including advice from experts, providing a safe space for discussion and teaching mindfulness strategies.

There are 100 places available for all students including postgraduates. The workshop series is one week-long, running online the week just before freshers week (27th Sept - 1st Oct 2021).

We aim to keep the same group of students for all five workshops. This is to build a relationship of trust and to ensure that the workshop series is as fruitful as possible. However, it will be possible to attend individual workshops if there are available places.

The workshops will take place roughly at the same time on each of the five days, (2 - 3pm) or (2 - 3:30pm).

The sign-up process is a flexible one, allowing you to choose the workshops you are most interested in. The process is explained in more detail within the sign-up sheet description, so be sure to read through.

Just to reiterate the workshops and the 100 available places are open to both undergraduates and postgraduates.
