Student Trustee x3

What's the role?: Oxford SU has 3 Student Trustees who are elected as members of the Trustee Board. The Trustee Board is ultimately responsible for the strategic success, financial sustainability and legal compliance of Oxford SU as a charitable organisation. The Student Trustees will normally be given a specific area of responsibility, either; complaints, finance, media or vice-chair. They work with others including the University and Student Council.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Ensure Oxford SU is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit
  • Comply with Oxford SU’s governing documents and the law
  • Act in Oxford SU's best interests
  • Make sure Oxford SU’s assets are only used to support or carry out its purposes
  • Act with reasonable care and skill
  • Ensure Oxford SU is able to demonstrate that it is complying with the law, well run and effective
  • Ensure Oxford SU's appropriate accountability to its members
