Oxford Medical Students’ Society (MedSoc) is the society for all Oxford Students in their first 3 years at medical school - non-medics are welcome! Every term, MedSoc hosts a range of social events, from scrubs crawls to informal drinks to the occasional bop (fancy dress party!) or welfare lunch with free food (if the COVID-19 situation permits this). These are a great way to wind down and are the perfect opportunity to get to know medics across the entire three years. As a MedSoc member, your entry to all these events is free and tickets for the highly anticipated MedSoc Ball in Michaelmas are substantially discounted! Each term MedSoc hosts a number of exciting talks - former speakers include Ben Goldacre (author of Bad Pharma), Henry Marsh and David Nutt. If talks aren’t your thing, we have lots more for you to get involved in from sports teams to arts and drama showcases. MedSoc can act as the medium through which your comments, questions and suggestions can be passed on to the faculty during reviews. MedSoc has 2 welfare reps whom you can speak to confidentially about anything throughout the year. We hope that you will join MedSoc (the vast majority of medics do)!
