The Oxford University Computer Society (CompSoc) organises talks, social events and coding classes to further our members' computing interests.
During term time, we hold tech talks every Wednesday and socials every Saturday. Our tech talks often revolve around a new technology and how it's used. Speakers come from a variety of backrounds: from the largest tech firms in the world, to local academics. Socials are a chance to relax and meet others with an interest in computing. All events have free pizza and drinks.
In Michaelmas, we run CS Essentials, where we introduce members of the University to the tools Computer Scientists usually use.
In Hilary, we run Learn to Code, where we teach people the principles of programming using Python.
