The Oxford University Islamic Society (OUISoc) is a student-run body and serves as the focal point for both Muslim students and staff and those wanting to engage with the Muslim community in Oxford. We have an open and diverse membership, with over 1300 people on our mailing list, and we have a reputation for being amongst the university’s most vibrant and active societies, holding an average of roughly an event every day. OUISoc is not a society solely for Muslims; our aims and likewise our events are varied in their nature to suit students of all shades of observance. We host a variety of events from religious education classes and lectures to socials and sport with a lot of charity and community work too among other things. We run the University's Muslim Prayer Room located next to the Pitt Rivers Museum (Robert Hooke Building) that is open to all to pray whenever they like, with Friday prayers every week too. We also provide free iftaars every night during Ramadan in the Prayer Room for all Muslim students and locals.
