Build community. Celebrate racial diversity. Inspire change.

As one of the permanent campaigns at the Oxford SU, the Campaign for Racial Awareness and Equality is dedicated to all BAME students at the University of Oxford.

If you want to influence the student experience, shape the direction of our campaign and get involved in projects, join CRAE! We work with national experts and equality organisations so that we can transform the way in which people and institutions at Oxford understand, support, and create environments for racial diversity.

Our aim is to represent, support and advocate for students of colour whilst creating an inclusive and diverse university. Given the scope of our campaign, we work with organizers across colleges and across the city of Oxford to bring about long-lasting change that celebrates diversity and fights for anti-racist initiatives.

To stay connected with us - check out our Beacon for links to all our social media pages and updates about events and projects.

Our key priorities as an elected committee for the year ahead:

  • Building a stronger presence for CRAE on campus and online

  • Working with cultural societies and student-led and community-based activist groups to create a space for BAME-wide collaboration within and outside of the University

  • Create a BAME mentorship program

  • Campaigning for a safer campus

    • Create immersive racial awareness workshops for students and societies

    • Create resources for mental health support specifically for BME students

    • Reform and centralize complaints and discrimination procedures
