Candidate Eligibility

If you would like to put yourself forward as a candidate to be a Part-Time Officer or Student trustee, you must be a current student at the time of the elections and for the duration of your role. This means that if you stop being a student or member of Oxford SU, your role will come to an end.

The only eligibility criteria for our Part-Time Officer roles is that you have the time and skills to represent students from within your community group both internally to the SU through Conference of Common Rooms and to the University.

Candidates for Equity Officer positions must self-define from within that group. You can update your self-definitions during the election process or at any time from your Elections Profile Page: Election Profile

To be a Student Trustee of Oxford SU, you must also not:

  • have previously been removed as a trustee, charity officer, agent or employee, by the Commission or the High Court due to misconduct or mismanagement (or the Scottish equivalents).

  • currently be declared bankrupt or subject to bankruptcy restrictions or an interim order

  • Be subject to a debt relief order, a debt relief restrictions order or interim order

  • Be disqualified from being a company director.
