As CCR president, I would add another C: CONNECTION. I envision the CCR President role as a ~ribbon~ Connecting Communities and Common Rooms. Vote Roxi for TripleC R President.

EXPERIENCE

Common room representation:
-> St Anne’s JCR President, representing my college at every Prescom, contributing to the creation of the Conference of Common Rooms system and attending every CCR since its inception.
-> CoSecretary of Prescom, mediating discussions between JCR presidents and organising formal and social events.

University-level representation:
-> JCR President Rep on the University Senior Tutors' Committee: the only non-SU student representative during the transformation period.

SU-level representation:
-> SU Impact Associate, compiling reports that inform CCR decisions.

Society-level representation:
-> Vice President of Romanian Society, encouraging student engagement in national elections.
Oxford already has strong communities, with meaningful representation through our common rooms and the societies we choose. I believe the Student Union should build upon this, rather than compete with it.

Instead of imposing representation upon students, I envision the CCR President role as a ~ribbon~: connecting, not controlling, all the independently thriving communities in the university and emphasising the power of Conference of Common Rooms as a space where anyone can bring their community’s voice.

I see this role as reinforcing the features that make societies, student groups and common rooms unique, while actively working to minimise their inequalities. Colleges should differ in flavour, not quality.

MY IDEAS

Connecting COMMON ROOMS
- Guiding the evolution of Conference of Common Rooms meetings: creating space for informal dialogue between MCR and JCR presidents, providing free refreshments and building trust in its power to mandate change.
- Refining the College Disparities Report.
- Reviving the Alternative Prospectus.

Connecting SOCIETIES
- Bringing back the Yellow Pages: a universal list of contact details for societies.
- Hosting a start-of-year event for societies to meet and collaborate.
- Creating a Uni-wide Shared Calendar to announce events, filtered by type.
- Expanding the RAG ball into a Societies Ball.

Connecting the LOCAL COMMUNITY
- Bridging town and gown by promoting local events, especially for students staying during vacations or those on year-round programmes.

Connecting INDIVIDUALS
- Making it easier for students at any degree level to find community spaces and mental health support

Building the legitimacy of the SU would be a game changer for what it is capable of. If my experience and ideas inspire confidence, I would be honoured to have your vote.

TLDR: vote Roxi for:
- Clarity over complexity: CCR meetings that are open and worth attending.
- Connection, not control: improving online resources for contacts & event promotion.
- Real collaboration across colleges, communities and student groups.

~Connecting~ Communities and Common Rooms.
