Oxford SU Leadership Election Trinity Term 2025

Oxford Students’ Union is comprised of four elected, Full-Time Sabbatical Officers, and an additional set of Part-Time Officers. Officers of the Students’ Union are described within Bye-Law 3 as the primary representatives of the student body within the University of Oxford. Our Sabbatical Officers are the student leaders of the SU and essential for raising student voice at a senior University level. We believe students should be central to student representation and our Officers work closely with the Conference of Common Rooms to empower and support the diverse student community at the University of Oxford. We are running elections for Equity Officer, Community Officer and Student Trustee positions in Trinity Term 2025. Our Part-Time positions are voluntary, unpaid roles do not qualify as ‘major union office holders’ for the purposes of the Articles and the Education Act 1994. This means that any of our Part-Time Officers could go on to serve as a Sabbatical Officer and have the opportunity to run for a second term. Student Trustee positions are for up to two years and you can run for two consecutive or non-consecutive terms. Students can run for both a Student Trustee position and a Part-Time Officer position; however students can only run for 1 Part-Time Officer position at a time.

The Oxford SU Trustee Board is comprised of Sabbatical Officer Trustees, Student Trustees and External (or Lay) Trustees. The purpose of a trustee is to oversee the organisation; the Board has overall legal responsibility for the charity. Being a Trustee is a great experience for many reasons and a practical way to gain insight into the inner workings of a charity. We're looking for students who are passionate about developing Oxford SU, and able to act in the best interests of the organisation
