About me

What did you study/are you studying at Oxford?

I've graduated with an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation (Linacre College).

What are you most excited about for the next year as a Sabb?

I'm excited to serve students and support them in what they care about. I want to show up for the things they put time and passion into, whether that’s sport, performance, or community work. I’m especially looking forward to helping make sure those spaces are welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

What has surprised you most so far?

How wide the reach of the role is. I didn’t fully realise how much influence student representatives can have until I found myself in meetings on everything from education policy and financial planning to libraries, parks, and environmental strategy. It’s been a reminder that student voice needs to be part of every conversation, not just the ones that obviously look like 'student issues' like studying or exams.

Why do you think representation is so important at Oxford specifically?

Oxford is one of the oldest universities in the world, and that history still shapes how it functions today. It is not just about tradition. It affects who can succeed, who feels welcome, and who is shut out. We know that Black students tend to have lower academic attainment, even when controlling for the A-level grades or equivalent qualifications they came with. Many buildings across the University are still not accessible to disabled students. Representation matters because these inequalities are not random. They reflect structures that need to change. If we want different outcomes, we need to be honest about what the barriers are and who is being affected.
