How to vote

The Oxford SU elections have launched - please find below a step-by-step on how to cast your vote in the election.

1. Go to the voting page

2. Read the candidate manifestos

3. When you are ready to vote - click the 'vote' tab that looks like this:

4. You'll see the ballot paper for each role. We use a voting system called 'single transferable vote' which means that you can rate the candidates in order of preference. Rate your first preference candidate 1, your second preference candidate 2 and so on, until you have no further preferences. You don't have to give a preference to each candidate, just the ones you would like.

5. You can then submit your vote - you can log back in any time before the close of voting to amend your vote, by clicking the 'change vote' option

If you have trouble with any of the above including issues logging in, please email the DRO team on elections@oxfordsu.ox.ac.uk

Who is ron?

You'll see in every election that there is the option to vote for RON or Re-Open Nominations. RON is a candidate like any other, if RON recieves more votes than any other candidate, then Oxford SU will re-open the nominations for that role and hold a bye-election in Trinity Term to fill the vacancy. You can vote for RON at any time within your preferences, or not at all.
