for NUS DELEGATE

REPRIORITISE NUS

Right now the NUS has too many focus areas and isn't able to effectively lobby in any of them. I believe the NUS should cut down to only a handful of key issues, given it has limited time and energy This streamlined approach will also draw in a wider audience of students and national attention to higher education issues

OPPOSE MARKETISATION

Since the introduction of tuition fees in this country, the entire education system has become marketised, with students as consumers and universities function like a business I think we should focus on cutting tuition fees, and making education the focus, not revenue or graduate salary or some other metric

OPPOSE CASUALISATION

In the past couple years, we've seen staff in this country be pushed to their limits during the COVID-19 pandemic and then take a hit during the cost of living crisis I wholeheartedly support making sure staff (and students) who are teaching are given proper contracts and workers benefits as per their employ

FIGHT FOR LIBERATION

The NUS has to fight for students of all backgrounds and it's important that an intersectional approach wholly prioritises this diversity I oppose discrimination of any kind and will work to hold the NUS to account
