SU Presidents week 5 round-up

If you are experiencing any Fifth Week Blues, remember that the SU is here; you don't have to do Oxford alone. Ask for help from a friend, your tutor, college welfare team, University counselling, or the Oxford SU Advice Service.

Here’s a message from the SU Presidents about what they got up to while representing students in week 5 of Hilary:

“If you are experiencing any Fifth Week Blues, remember that the SU is here; you don't have to do Oxford alone. Ask for help from a friend, your tutor, college welfare team, University counselling, or the Oxford SU Advice Service.

This week we attended JCR PresCom at Trinity College, and it was great to bring student leaders together across colleges.

Alisa and Seun met with Freya Johnson the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education, and then attended Education Committee, working with the University to make meaningful improvements to your academic experience. Alisa attended the continuing education strategic management board, and met with Dr Alison Macdonald, the Director oxLife Long Learning. Shermar met with the Principal of Harris Manchester College!

We also hosted International students’, Class, Black and Minority Ethnic Students’ and LGBTQ+  Representative Committees, our spaces which give underrepresented students a voice within Oxford SU.

We also met with Ant Brewerton from the Bodleian Libraries, as part of our monthly catchup with a key stakeholder who can influence the student experience in the libraries.

We attended the Oxford SU Trustee Board meeting, supporting good governance of the Students’ Union.

We’ve been in lots of University Committees representing students this week.

  • Continuing Education Strategic Management Board

  • Education Committee

  • Graduate Committee

  • SSD Undergraduate Student Rep Board

  • Conference of Colleges

  • Planning and Resource Allocation Committee

  • Curators of University Parks

That’s all from us! Thanks for reading.”
