WHAT ARE REPCOMS?:
The Conference of Common Rooms shall convene Representative Committees (known as RepComs). RepComs are a termly forum for representatives of communities to deal with matters of shared interest and common purpose, ensuring representation of those groups at all levels of the University and its constituent colleges. These forums are a vital component of how we do representative for marginalised student communities to ensure student voice is amplified.
RepComs are Chaired by our Equity Officers for the relevant student group, and they will also provide a report to each meeting in relation to matters arising. The Equity Officer will be responsible for raising matters arising in the RepCom with the wider Officer Team (both Sabbatical and Part-time Officers) and relevant University Task and Finish/Working Groups.
A Deputy Chair can be elected from within the RepCom and will act on behalf of Chairs in their absence. Each RepCom may create further Postholders as required to support the representation of those with intersectional or minority groups within each community.

The process for convening, reconvening or closing a RepCom shall be by submission of a motion to the Conference of Common Room in accordance with Bye-Law 5.
AGENDA SETTING:
Whilst an SU Sabbatical Officer will be in attendance at the meetings, these are your meetings and the agenda is open for any RepCom member to submit a motion: click here to submit an item.
Officers of the Students’ Union may submit motions, but these must be proposed and seconded by other 2 members of the RepCom or other Officers of the Students’ Union. Motions must be submitted with 10 working days’ notice of any meeting. Motions and agendas shall normally be published 5 working days ahead of the RepCom meeting.
MEMBERSHIP:
You can attend, speak at, and observe these meetings if you are a student who self-defines as part of the relevant group and/or are a relevant Common Room, society or divisional representative, but only Common Room Role Holder elected to represent that community can vote. One relevant representative of each Common Room, nominated by each of the common rooms, normally, the Common Room Role Holder elected to represent that community shall be the voting member.
The relevant Equity Officer (as defined in Bye-Law 3) shall not be voting members of RepComs, but shall be in attendance as executive members.
WHICH REP COMMS ARE HAPPENING IN TRINITY 2025?
All of these RepComs are scheduled from 4pm to 5:30pm and will take place in the Oxford SU Meeting Room, on the ground floor of 4 Worcester Street. The building and room are accessible, with access to accessible toilets.

If you run your elections through the SU, you should be listed as a Common Room Rep, you will also receive an email inviting you to attend. If your Common Room’s page is incorrect, your President needs to update it by following these instructions.
