Whether you want to be Oxford’s next ball photographer, or just want to learn how to take better photos on your phone when you’re out for Atik Broke Mondays, the SU Arts Week Photography Workshop is the place to learn all the basics. For 1.5 hours, three Oxford student photographers will walk you through how to compose and light a shot. If you have a camera, bring it, but if not, even your smartphone camera works. Come prepared to take photos as you learn!

Alex Garcia is a second-year Hispol student at Balliol. Having started with nothing more than an iPhone in middle school, he has become an experienced photographer, taking photos on his travels and even speaking about the intersection between photography and activism at UNICEF in New York City. From understanding the basics of composition and lighting to learning how to develop their own unique style. He looks forward to empowering others to take their fist steps in the exciting world of photography.
