Be shadowed by a Sixth Former
Target Schools runs a regular shadowing scheme for over 200 Year 12 students (16/17 years old) from the UK.
This is a great way for future students to see what Oxford is really like, and for undergraduates to get involved in access. Each student is matched to an undergraduate studying a subject similar to the one that the student is interested in, and then ‘shadows’ that undergraduate for half a day, going to their lectures and tutorials.
Step 1 - Sign-up
This is your membership to Target Schools and puts you on our general mail list. We will email you sign up forms for the shadowing days. Please follow the link below.
Step 2 - Get Trained
In order to be a shadow you must complete our shadowing training. This is a short (around 30 minutes) talk on 'how to do' a shadowing day, and important safeguarding points. Please click going/interested on our facebook event page. The training dates for Michaelmas 2018 are:
Friday 12th Oct 2018 (1st week) 4 - 4:30pm Hertford College Old Library
Thursday 18th October 2018 (2nd week) 4 - 4:30pm Hertford College Old Library
Wednesday 24th October 2018 (3rd week) 4 - 4:30pm Oxford SU
Step 3 - Be Shadowed
Once you're trained you will be eligible to sign up for a shadowing day. We will email out a Doodle Poll to all our trained undergraduates a week prior to the shadowing day. The upcoming shadowing dates are:
