Wychwood Warriors are the OU Historical Reenactment society and we recreate life and warfare in early Mediaeval Britain through display combat, costume, food and crafts. We take part in public displays and our big event is a trip to the Danelaw Village near York where we live as Anglo-Saxons and Vikings at an open-air museum.
During termtime we run battle practice, social events such as bonfires and feasts, day trips, and evening sessions which include calligraphy, chainmail, costume making, Anglo-Saxon riddles, historically themed roleplaying games and plays based on Norse mythology.
We welcome everyone from complete beginners to seasoned reenactors. You don’t need any prior experience or knowledge - just interest!
