"Oxford University Yacht Club is Oxford’s home for students with a passion for sailing. We cater for experienced racers and casual sailors of any and all levels. On the dinghy side of things, the club has an extremely competitive team racing squad, who sail Firefly dinghies at Farmoor (a short bus journey from the city centre) and at student competitions around the country. In the summer season we offer more relaxed ""social sailing"" for those who are happier cruising around in the sun. The yachting section hold regular cruising and racing trips in the Solent (on the South Coast). On the cruising side of things, we don't ask for any prior experience, just a desire to get out on the water. The racing squad has a real mix of seasoned yacht sailors and students who have made the jump from dinghies into yachts during their time at Oxford, so regardless of your ability there's something for you. Keep an eye out for our summer sail week trip too – think ski trip but with yachts, in the sun, on the Med. Keep a look out for details about our events during Michaelmas term!
